Stress, stay back: How EFT Tapping has been proven to reduce stress and strengthen emotional balance

Do you feel blocked or stressed inside sometimes? Perhaps the solution already lies within your hands.

EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a surprisingly simple yet scientifically sound method for emotional self-regulation. Developed in the 1990s by Gary Craig, it combines elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern psychology – you could say it's acupuncture without needles.

By gently tapping certain acupressure points along the meridians – while consciously expressing stressful thoughts – stress is released where it originates: in the nervous system.

A randomized, controlled study by the American Psychological Association (APA, 2012) showed that just one EFT session reduced cortisol levels by an average of 24% – more than any other comparison group.

But EFT is more than a technique. It's a mini-ritual of mindfulness. An emotional reset that brings you back to yourself. That's precisely why it's part of our new selfcare experiences at yardin zayel – not as the main act, but as a subtle tool in a holistic setup that harmonizes body, mind, and emotions.

How it works

You begin with a so-called setup – a sentence that identifies your issue and simultaneously expresses self-acceptance. For example: "Even though I'm feeling overwhelmed right now, I fully accept myself."

Then you tap certain points on your face, chest and hands – accompanied by words that describe exactly what you are feeling.

It's not magic – but it often seems like it. EFT can:

  • Reduce stress and restlessness

  • Resolve self-doubt and mental blocks

  • Improve sleep

  • Positively influence emotional patterns

And the best part? You don't need anything except yourself and a few quiet minutes.
